Time table:
- 8.00 Gathering point at Natural Reserve headquarter (via della Torre, Sorico). Short presentation of the protected area
- 8.30 Start toward the station of Nuova Olonio-Dubino. Walking along the Northern part of the Natural Reserve (birdwatching)
- 10.00 Return to the station of Nuova Olonio-Dubino and moving to Dascio. Birdwatching on the lake front. Walking up to panoramic point of Sasso di Dascio
- 12.30 Return to the Natural Reserve headquarter
- 13.00 Packed lunch
- 14.00-18.00 Free birdwatching within the Natural Reserve
- 18.00 Aperitif with local typical products
Description:
The about 4 hour excursion consists in two different perspectives of the Natural Reserve: the first one, inside the protected area, will allow the participants to closely observe the habitats of the river and the lake, together with the characteristic aquatic plants that hosts a lot of waterbird species (the lake is an important Ramsar site); the second one, along a path from the Natural Reserve borders, will offer a global panoramic sight of Pian di Spagna and its elaborate water system from a spectacular point of view, on the top of Sasso di Dascio.
Required equipment:
Comfortable sportswear, trekking shoes, waterproof jacket.
Difficulty degree:
The excursion is not particularly difficult and for the most part in plane.
Please note: even in case of bad weather the trip will be held, favouring the area presentation and shorting the field excursion.
