| Collateral events |
Before or during the Conference time some collateral events in Chiavenna city centre will take place, both for the Conference participants and for local people. This initiatives will allow participants to enjoy the town and the local reality. We suggest you to attend as many events as possible, to live at the best the possibilities offered by the local context.
To encourage the involvement in these events the Organizing Committee will award one participant randomly selected among those who will attend all the foreseen events (except for the birdwatching contest). The prize will be a telescope Kowa, kindly provided by Auriga.

- Children drawing exhibition:
An exhibition of local school children ornithological drawings is planned from the beginning of the Pian di Spagna Birdwatching Festival to the end of the EBCC Conference. During the Festival the exhibition will take place at the Natural Reserve headquarter; since April 16th until April 22nd the drawings will be shown at Cappuccini Cloister, in the deconsecrated church, in Chiavenna.
All the participants are invited to visit the exhibition and to vote for their favourite drawings. The competition prize-giving will be held on April 22nd in the afternoon at the Victoria Theatre in Chiavenna.
- Bird photo exhibition:
During the whole Conference the shopkeepers along the main street in Chiavenna will show a bird photo exhibition in their shop-windows. The pictures, on the bird species of the near alpine area (Valtellina), are kindly provided by an Italian naturalistic photographer, Andrea Micheli. This way we hope to encourage the curiosity of local people about birds and the Conference.
All the participants are invited to visit the exhibition, walking along the beautiful streets of Chiavenna.
